Hamburg Süd – General Rate Increase July 15, 2010

Hamburg Süd will introduce a “General Rate Increase” (GRI) on the southbound North East Asia to Australia trade with effect from 15th July 2010.

From 15th July 2010, an increase of US$250/TEU and US$500/FEU for both dry and refrigerated cargo will be levied on all outward shipments with origin in Korea, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan to ports and points in Australia.

This increase will apply uniformly in addition to existing market rates, and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment.

The General Rate Increase will be applied for all cargo on the basis of B/L (Bill of Lading) dates.
